Barcelona
Barcelona is a lively Mediterranean city that offers its inhabitants and visitors a wide range of historical, cultural, culinary opportunities. There is really something for everybody! The city invites people to walk around and visit its interesting sites, and to shop and eat at reasonable prices.

Transportation from Barcelona Airport
Trains run from Barcelona airport to Sants station every 30 minutes: single ticket price € 2.60. From Sants station to the Hotel Melià (the Congress venue) you can take a number 27 bus (single ticket price €1.25) to Francesc Macià stop, 50 metres from the Hotel.

Taxi
The airport is approximately 20 minutes from the Melià Hotel. Prices range from € 25.00 - € 30.00. We recommend the services of the typical black and yellow Barcelona taxis.

Car rental
There are four companies (Hertz, Avis, Europcar and National Atesa) that offer reasonable car rental rates from the airport.

Passport & Visa
Non-EU nationals may require visas. Information on exact requirements should be obtained from your local Spanish Embassy, Consulate or Tourist Office.

Climate & Clothing
The weather in Barcelona in June is usually warm and sunny although the occasional shower may occur. A light sweater is recommended for evenings.

Language
The official language of the Meeting is English. Simultaneous translation will be provided from English to Spanish for the Postgraduate Course.

Insurance
Registration fees do not include insurance. Suitable personal travel insurance should be taken out.
