Tuesday June 5th- Afternoon Half-Day Tour
Barcelona and Gaudí
Departure: 14:30 p.m. Return: 17:30 p.m.

Enjoy the peculiar style of the famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí (1852-1926). Our first stop will be at the Sagrada Família, the most famous building in Barcelona. Continue up to the Güell Park declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Finally, we will visit some modernist houses such as La Pedrera or La Casa Batlló located in one of the most famous Barcelona boulevards.

Wednesday June 6th - Full-Day Tour
(Option 1) Barcelona and Picasso
Departure: 10:00 a.m. Return: 16:00 p.m.

This tour offers you the opportunity to discover the Bohemian Barcelona where Picasso lived. Get to know the city as it was at the turn of the century through anecdotes and events that moulded the artist’s life and career. Visits include: “Els Quatre Gats” café, the meeting point of intellectuals at the end of the 19th Century, the Llotja de Mar, the art school where he and Salvador Dalí studied, the friezes on the front of the Architects’Association building, the Gothic Quarter with stops in different places that inspired some of Picasso’s paintings such as “Les Demoiselles d’Avignon” and finally the Picasso Museum which houses the most important collection of Picasso’s youth and formative years. Lunch will be served at “Les Set Portes”, one of the oldest restaurants in Barcelona (175 years old).

(Option 2) Visit to Montserrat
Departure: 10:00 a.m. Return: 16:30 p.m.
Montserrat is approximately 45 minutes’drive from Barcelona. The monastery dates from the 19th Century and is home to a community of Benedictine monks. The Basílica was build in the 16th Century and hosts the statue of Our Lady of Montserrat, commonly known as “La Moreneta”, the patron saint of Barcelona. At 1:00 p.m we will listen to the “Salve Regina” sung by the Escolania, the oldest boys’choir in Europe. The visit includes lunch at the Abad Cisneros Hotel.

Thursday June 7th - Morning Half-Day Tour
(Option 1) Montjuic Mountain and Joan Miró Foundation
Departure: 10:00 a.m. Return: 13:00 p.m.

Montjuic, a symbolic hilly area to the south of the city, is remembered for being the heart of the 1992 Olympic Games with the famous Olympic Stadium and the Palau Sant Jordi and hosts a variety of activities including sports, museums and art galleries. We will visit some of its interesting places such as Caixa Fòrum, the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion and the Miró Foundation which houses the world’s largest and most complete collection of Miró’s work.

(Option 2) La Rambla and La Boqueria Market
Departure: 9:00 a.m. Return: 1:00 p.m.

A walking tour that combines history and gastronomy. The Boqueria is the city´s flagship food market with its colourful stalls abounding in fresh fruit, vegetables and fish. The tour includes a coffee break at one of the most famous confectioneries, Antonio Escribá, which preserves its original Art Nouveau style. We’ll walk through “El Call”, the Jewish Quarter until 1401, and visit the cathedral with its splendid Gothic features dating from the 13th Century.

City Sightseeing
For those of you who wish to explore the city at leisure, the city’s open-topped, double-decker “Bus Turístic” offers three routes (North Route, South Route, and The Forum Route) around the many contrasting quarters of the city. Visitors can leave the bus at any point and pick up another to continue the tour.

Regular sightseeing tours around the old and new ports of Barcelona are available every day on
the famous “Golondrinas” boats.
